Wild hunting trip
Ok guys after not seeing a deer all season a buddy of mine and I went and hunted a farm in georgetown on thanksgiving day that a buddy of his has leased and did not like and told us to hunt it all we wanted. Ok heres where the story gets wild. We had never been there before so we called the land owner up and he told us he would meet us at 9AM to show us the farm and property lines. SO he takes us at 9 and shows us the farm leaves and says kill what you want. So we start scouting the farm for the afternoon hunt we come onto a small bottom with a small wood lot to the left four deer jump and run one is a monster 8 point he runs across the field jumps the fence onto the blacktop and gets hit my a car I am talkin about a 120-130 class 8 a monster. He is draggin himself up the ridge with his front legs whole back half broken by the car I asked the lady who hit it if she wanted me to put him down and she says sure. I said do you own the land that he is on and she said no. But we can ask the land owner. So Went to the land owners house and she was not home to get permission but the neighbor comes over to see whats going on. So I tell him the story and he says well I am the sheriff here and lets see the buck If he is broken up like you say you can put him down. We walk to the ridge where he was crossin and found him he looks at me and says go get your gun and put him down. so I run back to the truck and get the gun come back and the deer is gone into a thicket he shows us where he went in . My buddy and I spend the next 2 hours going through the thicket and bottoms with the sheriff and never did see the buck again. I know this buck died he was dragging bothe back legs. Man I hate to see one end that way. I have know clue where he went . He just vanished 
. SO broken hearted we went back to the farm and my buddy misses a spike that afternoon and I seen 3 does right at dark but couldn’t get a shot. In all we seen 12 deer and didn’t get but the one shot. We had a great hunt other than loosing the monster 8. also the cop tells us he has been seeing a 12, 10, the monster 8 and a few smaller bucks crossing the road onto the farm we were hunting. He said he was hunting them on his property but quit after he shot a 10pt elsewhere.
