What would be a good 20 guage auto to use for turkey hunting?

I’ve been talking about trying turkey hunting for a while, and my step daughter surprised me by saying she’d like to try it with me. She turns 22 a month before the season opens, so I thought I’d get her a license and turkey vest for her b-day, and a few things for myself to get started. There’s about $150 between cash and Dick’s gift cards tucked away in my sock drawer to get the ball rolling and I guess the debit card will have to cover the rest, so please help me with a shopping list!

• Calls – which types? how many? specific brands?
• Decoys – jakes? hens? how many? best type? (I really need help with these)
• Vests – not too pricey; any good suggestions?
• Camo wrap for my Mossberg 500 and her Rem 1100 barrels
• Anything else obvious I missed?

Feel free to share any tips you might have for a couple first timers before we scout on 3/16 in Breckinridge county, or before the season opens. I’m reading the forums and looking around the internet for anything helpful I can find, buy I always welcome good advice.

My son is 9 years old & has never been on a youth turkey hunt. His dad & uncle want to take him this April. As a mom I am concerned (of course:o) about safety. My son is small for his age & has never shot anything bigger than a 22. I would like for him to take a hunter safety course and need advice on what shotgun would be best suited for him. His dad & uncle are very experienced hunters, but have never taken him hunting.:eek: Where can I find information on a hunter safety course near where we live? Any advice or suggestions would be helpful. Thank you

Are you allowed to call to a bird in a non-hunting area, such as a State Park, or possibly within some city limits after March 1st? The way the guide is worded makes me wonder if you could. The guide says

Call or attempt to call wild turkeys by mimicking the sounds made by a wild turkey from March 1 until the opening day of spring turkey season in any area open to turkey hunting if turkeys are reasonably expected to occur. Locator calls such as crow or owl calls are permitted

If the area is closed to turkey hunting, what would it matter whether the bird was called to or not, other than giving hunters a chance to hone their skills?

Was curious if anyone has any experience with the Burris speed bead, or the one that mounts on top on the shot gun? Really interested in getting one for my turkey gun and wanted to know what ya’ll thought about them? Thanks
