Spent the last 4 days with some good company roaming around a few different states. Had some good hunts and killed some birds. Migration has REALLY picked up the last few days and there is no doubt in my mind that the bulk of the snow geese have made their way into nebraska the last few days. First time out in the field with my new lens and I got some cool shots. Enjoy!
These crane ones are my favorite. One of the cooler pictures I will probably ever take. Mar 2010

Question? Snow goose hunting
March 4th, 2010
Has anyone had luck hunting next to a refuge? I call it a refuge but it’s just the power plant in G.I. That thing gets loaded with snows. Just wondering if anyone with a big spread would have any luck when they are using it. My wifes family owns the ground to the south and to the west. The only luck we have had is to wait for it to get full, and pass shoot them on the way out.

Just wanted to ask you guys if you have been killing the snows near Carlyle Lake?
I wonder if its a waste of my time to go this weekend and ask to hunt any fields near Carlyle Lake. Last Saturday we hunted the lake and never fired a shot the whole day we were there. I hope you guys get some chances. Thanks Feb 2010

any one have any contact info for the pit pal dog kennels? They were the ones made out of a 50 gal plastic drum with the screen on top. Thanks.

Now that’s a pair of Honkers…just monster birds.
I’d say there’s just a few…. I bet these two were wondering, "I think we’re lost…Harry? Bill? Anyone?" Not the best photo of the bunch, but look closely(I missed them too). Two birds, one in particular, are definitely not supposed to be on a Western Nebraska pond when it’s -4°windchill out in February….find um? (There is a drake Shoveler and Goldeneye in the back at about one o’clock.) Going back tomorrow to see if I can get some closer shots of them two. |
