Do you use a blood knot to join two lines together? And thanks for all of the input. The un-ending knowledge that is put out on this website is invaluable, and I have turned a few buddies onto this site and they feel the same.

I went ahead and purchased this combination as a result of the positive feedback given. Thanks to all that took the time to respond. I was able to fish with this combo for an hour late this afternoon and I’m very happy with my purchase. To think I only paid $39.00 for a rod I’m this impressed with is just silly. I’m equally happy with the reel. It is not going to replace my Revo SX but there certainly is not $95.00 difference in the two reels…IMHO. This is clearly the best $115.00 I’ve spent to date on fishing equipment.

I didnt really knock anything out of the air but….. I was tossing a Chatterbait around some docks a couple years back and there were some ducks up on this one dock. Well, one of the ducks had walked to the front corner and my line happened to fall across his back on a cast. Once my bait hit the water and he felt the line on him, he took off flying. I wasnt sure whether the Chatterbait had hooked him or not but he was flying away from me high and fast. My drag was screamin’ and my spool was getting low on line. He made a turn to the right so I stopped the spool with my thumb and gave it a quick jerk….my chatterbait (with a few feathers attached) fell from the sky and plopped right into the lake. He kept flying and squawking but I dont think he was hurt. His thick feathers must have stopped the hook before it got him. I was very relieved when he and my Chatterbait went their separate ways. Weird experience without a doubt and I dont cast that close to ducks or geese anymore.

I don’t know anyone that gives a dump about guide spacing
At least not anyone that knows squat about rods. Really? How different can 9 or 10 guides be spaced on a 6′9” rod with different effect? I don’t get this either. Granted, I only have half a dozen rods under my belt but I have never heard of much discrepancy in rod spacing. Guide choice, single or double foot, even guide number sure but like you said, I don’t know how many different ways you can put 9 guides on a 6′9" rod. As far as rods, as far as sensitivity goes, GLX, but steez rods do look sick.
